How do I get my files indexed by the search engines after a redesign where file names have changed?

Using 301 redirect you can redirect all the old URLs permanently. If your server is apache server, you have to access the .htaccess file and make the desired changes. It’s better to submit a new sitemap with new URLs to the search engines. Again, you can redirect the old files to new ones through a 301 and then submit a sitemap to Google with old URLs. Google will try to re-index the pages and 301 will tell them location where new files are present.
