How Search Engines Operate?
There are some important operations take places when search engine try to find a particular result.
1. Crawling the Web
Search engines run automated programs, called "bots" or "spiders" that use the hyperlink configuration of the web to "crawl" the pages and documents
2. Indexing Documents
Web pages content can be "indexed” once that pages have been crawled. Indexing means storing in a giant database of documents that makes up a search engine's index.
3. Processing Queries
When a query for information comes into the search engine, the search engine retrieves the entire document that match the query from its index.
4. Ranking Results
Once the search engine has determined which results are a match for the query, they sort the results pages in order from most relevant to least so that users can make a choice about which to select.
