Can a lower PageRank page drain and reduce my PageRank?

Lower PageRank pages do not reverse or drain your PageRank. The flow is always in one direction, from the sending to the receiving page. Linking to a lower PageRank page will not lower your own PageRank. An exchange between two theme relevant pages may even raise each other’s PageRank. Google’s linking system, in its most basic form, is considered to reward linking to other sites, but not for establishing artificial linking schemes to trick the search algorithm.
