some people argue about relevant backlinks and non relevant backlinks. I have tested both and can't seem to find a difference in Google juice.

But for Google ranking I do find Backlinks to be the most powerful with onsite SEO. With out the two you will not rank! Or at least you won't rank for the keywords you want to rank!
