What is difference between Alexa Rank and Page Rank. Is alexa rank depend on the backlinks of website.

PR is based on how many back links your site has gathered while Alexa Ranking is based on how many visitors who have installed Alexa Toolbar view your site

Alexa ranking is completely based upon the amount of online visitors going to the website.

Goolge Page Rank is the number between 0-10 given by Google to a website considering the amount & quality of Back Links the website has. In other words, the more popular & reputed a website is on internet, the more will be the Google PR of the website.

The biggest overall difference is Alexa never lies or penalises rank based on website factors. Also Alexa rank can rank way further than page rank as the number can go into the millions to as low as 1 like Yahoo or Google. Another major difference of Page Rank compared to Alexa Rank is Alexa ranks all based on no prejudice, just traffic and quality while Google only ranks on what the Google Algorithm wants. If the algorithm doesn’t like your site even if it is good it can give you zero… Google Page Rank is also not based on traffic levels as you can see from many examples on the Internet.
