The capability of the internet to track and measure user behavior is on of its greatest strengths for marketing. Yet, despite the promise of the internet to be the most accountable medium ever, there is a fierece debate regarding which performance measurement model is best, whether is traditional CPM model or an action model such as CPC or cost per transcation. The internet will certainly continue to grow and play a major role in marketing and as time passes and internet marketing matures, greater numbers of the more traditional corporations are likely to embrace this medium.

This is the fact and i agree... however when it comes to performance, i would go with CPC as best..
