Use Of Meta Tags

I just have a new website launched and I suddenly found myself becoming fixated with SEO. Are meta tags still in use? The ebooks and other resources I’ve read have different points on meta tags.

Don't go on any books or opinions. It is always better to have all the tags in place. Even if they are not helping you in SEO they will certainly not harm you either. There are many crude search engines out there that do not have matured algorithm like Google, Yahoo or MSN. They still rely on meta tags for rankings. Why to lose opportunity to get visitors through such resources though small in quantity.

Meta description tags are very important and used by most of the top search engines. Apart from that you can use meta robots tag for various tasks no other meta tags are used by major search engines today.

Meta tags are not a magic solution.

Meta tags have never been a guaranteed way to gain a top ranking on crawler-based search engines. Hello

I also have belief that Meta Tags can do the tricks and not always. I never rely on Meta tags unless I need something to do with crawlers. It still got its value in SEO fields and never be overlooked.

I believe that meta tag is important. Not always but sometime it help to rank higher for website for a particular keywords..

Having a meta tag in website not going to harm your site..So it's always better to have a meta tag in the website...
