Hi,

We are launching a new site where some of the urls are fairly long - up to 200 characters.

They are "friendly" urls without querystrings but it is a large site with lots of sub folders so they
have to be quite long.

Is there a limit? Will URLs of a certain length not get indexed?

Large URLS dont have problem getting indexed but remember it is not recommended to have huge URLs that look spammy. Stick to your instincts and learn to write URLs for your users too.

When your users are comfortable I am sure search engines will be comfortable too.

Think the max length for a GET request (querything goes in as a Get request) is 255 character or close

Does anyone know if there is a max length in charcters that a URL string can
be? Also do different browsers(Netscape, IE) have different max lengths?

Thanks,
the max length

According to my knowledge
The length of the URL - 2000 characters are allowed by google, but 100 characters are good, less is even better.
