SEO's Advanatages and Disadvantages

Post by Jenie0109 »

Search Engines are online services that allow users to scan the contents of the Internet to find Web sites or specific information of interest to them. A user inputs a search term, and the search engine attempts to match this term to categories or keywords in its catalog of World Wide Web sites. The search engine then generates a list of sites that match the search criteria, ranked in order of relevance.

It is the search engines that finally bring your website to the notice of the prospective customers. When a topic is typed for search, nearly instantly, the search engine will sift through the millions of pages it has indexed about and present you with ones that match your topic. The searched matches are also ranked, so that the most relevant ones come first.

Advantages:

* It can deliver your business website among the top ranked sites in the Web.
* A wider market and more target clients for you.
* SEO will invite more readers and potential customers to your site.
* It will improve your ranking in the search list and will give your site instant popularity.
* Better traffic equals more profit through pay-per-clicks.

Disadvantages:

* Less control on which pages appear in the natural results.
* SEO is slower in terms of ranking your site on a lot of chosen keywords.
* Less stable, more unpredictable traffic and ranking.
* It will take months or years for you to build up your ranking.
* May sometimes not generate profit.

Its a good post....the biggest disadvantage that i wil say is a lack of control. You are subject to changes in the algorithm and Technical constraints may also limit your SEO capabilities.
