Keyword Density

Post by werror »

How high is maximum keyword density please? I've been told 6-9% is ideal. Does this change if there is more text?

The percentage shouldn't change in relation to the amount of text - thats what a percentage is for!

I've read various figures for keyword density - usually 4-10%. But current thought seems to be that your overall content should be semantically coherent, so don't get hung up on keyword density.

Keyword Density is the measurement of how frequently any given keyword appears within a web page. Too high a density can result in a web page being classified as spam while too low a density will cause a page to not be indexed as well for the given keyword.

keyword density was an important factor in how a page was ranked.
Many SEO experts consider the optimum keyword density to be 1 to 3 percent.

Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions.

The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly (too low and you will not get the optimum benefit, too high and your page might get flagged for “keyword spamming”).

In my opinion keyword density is the number of times a particular phrase has been used on a page, and while most people would suggest that your phrases should be placed in your title, keyword tag, description tag, h1, h2, alt tags, title tags, url tags, and so many other areas that you can think of it only boils down to one thing.

"Keyword density" is simply the frequency that the Website linked keyword occurs given as a percentage of the total number of words. The preferred keyword density ratio varies from search engine to search engine. In general, I recommend using a keyword density ratio in the range of 2-6%.

It is always advised to develop a content for human not for search engines. Having high keyword density as like 9 % may result into high bounce rate which can harm your ranking as well. 2-5 percent is good enough
