I’m moving two of my websites to another hosting service, just wondered if this will affect my standing in the SE results (sorry if that’s not the right terminology) . Should there be any negative effect, is there anything I can do about it ?

Just check whether your hosting is a legitimate one and doesn't host any spyware or spam sites.

if you are hosting on a shared IP just make sure there are no other spam sites on it you can check reverse iP by using

IP:your new Ip in MSn search engine.
