STEP 1: Select the image that needs to be edited and open it with Photoshop CS5. Save it by giving it a file name.
STEP 2: Now, we have to duplicate the image. To duplicate it, press ‘Ctrl+j’ on windows PC or ‘Cmd+j’ on Mac.
STEP 3: Now edit the name of duplicate image and start removing the background.
STEP 4: In order to have a better visibility, zoom the image using ‘Ctrl+ -‘ on Windows PC or ‘cmd+ -‘ on Mac
STEP 5: As a next step, Select the ‘marquee tool’ from the tool box on the left side of the window and using this tool, select and drag to the area up to which the background has to be removed. We can select multiple areas in the background by pressing ‘shift’ and dragging to the next intended area.
STEP 6: To minimize the area selected by marquee tool, press ‘alt’ and drag on Windows PC or ‘opt’ and drag on Mac.
STEP 7: After selecting all the problematic areas, press ‘Shift+ Del’. A Content Fill dialog box will open on the screen.
STEP 8: After selecting ‘Content Aware’ in the dialog box, click ‘OK’.
STEP 9: This will delete or retouch all the areas selected.
STEP 10: Finally, click select from the menu bar and choose the option to ‘deselect all’. We can now either leave the image as is or add a new background to it again.
