Zombie websites – Expired domains replaced with old content

Hobbs of webmaster world complains here that Google is allowing Adsense ads to be published on Zombie sites. Zombie sites according to him are sites that are mostly expired domains which are replaced with its original content to make it look as if its the same site. Most of these sites completely loose their Google rankings since google has whois data which is updated internally and any major change to a whois of a particular site especially if the site changes hands google automatically imposes a penalty and makes sure all backlinks to that domain are banned and the site has to start gaining new backlinks.
So Google does its work but the sites that are expired still might get traffic from Backlinks they had previously the question of the main poster in this thread is why does Google allow sites that are like these to publish adsense ads. That is a Good question which only Google can respond.

My take on this Google don’t have time to check each and every site whether it violates copyright or its using previous owners contents. if some one complains they can definitely look into it and if the person who complains have valid reason then definitely Google will take action against the site.
I personally feel automated means to detect these stuff is just a waste of resources which can be spent in a much better way. Final take Google can keep providing adsense ads as long as the ads are relevant to the site if a valid complain comes they can block ads from being published on this site.

Which sites you filter in Adsense – Webmasterworld discussion

After Google released AdSense it is become one of the primary source of income for site owners who monetize their website through good content. Apart from the good results from AdSense there are a lot of spam related issues with AdSense. Lots of MFA ( Made For AdSense ) sites started coming up and this has polluted both search results and user experience. Most of the people behind MFA sites are big time spammers and they are ready to do anything to get traffic to the site.

Good traffic will result in more click through from AdSense and this will result in more revenue for the website publisher. AdSense itself is a very useful way of monetizing a site i always like to stay away since its too much abused by spammers. I feel today most of the people who see AdSense ads all over the page will feel that the site is related to spam. Its all because of the major abuse AdSense has gone through. AdSense itself offers the option to run ads for MLM schemes, ring tone affiliates, spam parked domains, get rich quick scheme, email harvesters, crap toolbars, crap software without a decent option to uninstall , scam sites asking funds for charity etc.

For publishers Google has an option to block certain type of sites from being shown up on their sites. Publishers have the option to filter out unwanted sites. This is great since some users don’t like sites showing certain type of Ads. For example a family friendly site don’t want to see ads related to drugs stuff we have an option to filter this. A cool discussion in webmaster world discusses on what type of sites are being filtered from their sites.
http://www.webmasterworld.com/google_adsense/3636512.htm

Most common filtered sites as per discussion are MLM, drug related sites, ring tone sites, sites offering free stuff, Parked domains, Work-At-Home, E-mail harvesters etc.

Adwords alternatives a discussion in digitalpoint forums

When i was going through digital point forums this particular thread caught my attention. It was a discussion about how a user is getting 18000 pageviews per day but make only 3$ with Adbrite. It looks a bit ridiculous problem .

Most probably the page views are caused by same people refreshing of visiting the site again or could be just some random bot trying to hit the site. Soon ill be posting a review about different alternatives based on interviews we conducted with various people. ill be posting them here very soon.

Importing Campaigns / Ad groups from Adwords to YSM

Many people have contacted us asking whether there is any easy way to import keywords, campaigns, ad groups from Google Adwords to Yahoo Search Marketing. From my experience currently there are no options for the end users but yahoo’s inhouse YSM experts can add data imported from Google Adwords. But to qualify for this you need to be a privileged user .

To be a YSM privileged user you need to have a minimum Ad spend of 6000$. If you qualify then Yahoo’s inhouse search marketing experts will add the campaigns imported from Adwords into the YSM control panel.

MSN adcenter already has an option for end users but Yahoo Search Marketing don’t have such an option . So of you are thinking of importing data from adwords and adding it to YSM currently its not possible,

Best PPC Advertising now – best paying company

Currently there are a lot of PPC companies which allow Ad publishing and pay out based on clicks generated from Ad publishing. Everyone knows that Google is one company you can believe and rely on. There programme Adsense has been a hit for a long time. Though lot of companies have come up recently still Adsense is unmoved from its current position. This is because they had been very genuine in their business.

Some times Adsense payouts are very less but mostly Search Engines pay out less because of potential fradulent clicks.

SO I recommend if you are a new Ad publishing without any experience with any Ad publishing company one company I recommend to believe is Google.

Believe Google and I am sure you will get what you are looking for

Repeated violation results in permanent suspension

These are rare cases but there are accounts in AdWords that gets suspended permanently for violation of Quality guidelines. A webmaster in webmasterworld reported that is site has permanently suspended due to repeated violation of guidelines.

webmasterworld.com/google_adwords/3635680.htms

In the above thread robin ponty says that his site has been suspended permanently. His site is an escort site. Escort sites are subject to strong review and its important to check the site with Google quality guidelines if once the site has been suspended. Here Robin points out that he continued to make the mistake of continuing with the account ever after repeated temporary suspension. He agrees that his site did violate quality guidelines due to some photos that are against Google AdWords quality guidelines. I recommend if you are facing similar problems make sure you read the quality guidelines and act according to it.

Yahoo now the great lord of truth

Yahoo has now added a new feature in Yahoo Search Marketing . They are now showing status of Click Filters. Click filter is a new feature where yahoo shows the status of Fraudelent clicks and the money refunded because it. This is a great new feature and possibly a by product of the merger of Click Forencics and Yahoo Search.

Recently Yahoo tied up hands with Click Forencics a company who has been loud on fighting click fraud.

Before joining hand with Click Forensics Yahoo said its click fraud rate was around 12 to 15% and most of these funds are returned to the advertisers. Google Claimed click fraud rate in their sponsored results are only in single digits.

Now Yahoo have a good reporting system where they show the status of click fraud in search results inside the Yahoo search marketing control panel and return the funds to advertisers who suffer from click fraud.

The report can be customized with the following data:

  • Impressions
  • Clicks
  • Invalid Clicks
  • Invalid Click Rate
  • Click-through Rate (CTR)
  • Cost
  • Average Cost-per-Click

Great job Yahoo we wish to see more of such features in future.
