Gmail designer moves out of Google, Friday, January 04, 2008

Google's experience and senior designer lead, Kevin Fox, is now planning to quit the search giant for joining a small start-up. Fox's resume would comprise the design of Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Reader 2.0. He was as well leading the design of Google's publishing products, like as Blogger, Google Groups and Page Creator.

Referring to the move away from Google in his blog, Fox said, "Will it be awkward when I talk with friends [made at Google] about the web and they have to censor themselves to prevent discussing confidential products? Even more novel, how easily will I adapt to working in an environment where we're far more open about the projects we're working on, to the point of evangelising them."

Google Search Rival appears soon, Thursday, January 03, 2008

Wikia Search is a new site supposed to be launched on 7th January 2008. According to Wikia Search creator the searching topics would be able to rank in search engines results using open-source software consecutively to get better the filtering of search engine results. The plan is to bring up simplicity into the search engine process. On the other hand Google followers argue it would permit humans to stage-manage the entire search process and that computer produced results are the quite a way to offer people with information.

Wikia Search could now threaten Google's domination but the new group of people driven search engine would certainly take time to develop, just as Wikipedia took time to upsurge its entries.
