Creating Bing Shopping profile
While you create a campaign, you might as well select the Bing Shopping option. Bing has a wonderful feature that allows advertisers to specify what percentage of the purchase price should be rebated to the customer. This percentage that is set is applicable to all ad groups and keywords unless you change it for a particular ad group or keyword. This feature is specifically designed under the Premium direct advertisers program. However, both Premium Direct as well as Simple Direct advertisers could provide texts that are visible only in Bing Shopping enabled ads. This is pretty much useful as it allows you to include more details that also include rebate details in the ad text.
Feature Levels of Bing Shopping :
The Shopping features of Bing vary accordingly which depends upon which particular program you have opted for. You can either choose Simple Direct Bing Shopping Program or Premium Direct Bing Shopping program.

Simple Direct features :

Adding Bing Shopping Merchant Center Feed :
Without a Microsoft adCenter account you can neither participate in the Bing Shopping Program nor submit a Bing Shopping Merchant Center feed. You also need to enable your Bing Shopping Merchant Center Account to use Bing Shopping’s free FTP services.

Creating a Microsoft adCenter account :
If you already have this account, you can skip to step2. However, otherwise, open your browser and go to Microsoft adCenter-> click blue sign up now button to apply for a new account. A set of instructions will guide you through the application phase for creating a free Microsoft adCenter account. Following this phase Microsoft adCenter will send an email to your id which will contain further instructions for you to set up your account. Go through these instructions to configure your company information in Bing Shopping Merchant Center. - Setting up Auctiva Commerce to send feeds to Bing Shopping Merchant Center.
- At Auctiva Merchant Admin go to Marketing->feeds->Bing Merchant Center
- Enter your FTP username and FTP password provided to you by Bing in an email mentioned in Step1.
- Click Save Feeds Settings button
- Click Advanced Tab
- Click Create and Submit Feed link to submit product feed to Bing Merchant Center
- Now you’ll have to wait for the Bing Shopping to approve your feed. The concerned authorities will review your feed and send you a confirmation mail once it is approved. At this point your part is over and your Bing Shopping Account will be activated.
- Now enable automated nightly Bing Shopping feed submission.
- At Auctiva Commerce Merchant Admin go to Marketing->Feeds->Bing Merchant Center.
- See to that you check the Automatically generate and submit a daily product feed option send feeds to Bing every night.
- Click Save Feeds Settings button.
IMPORTANT NOTES :
This Merchant Center feature is only supported for US merchants. Also, Bing currently displays only NEW products on their site. Used products will not be accepted and thus there is no point in including them in your feed list.
With these 4 steps setting up of your merchant center feed for your Auctiva Commerce store is complete. This particular feed will have to be maintained on a day to day basis every time you add or remove or make significant changes to your current inventory. Presently Bing also does not provide dashboard view of your feed or product status unlike Google.
Currently Bing have also paused the on-boarding of new merchants process established in step 1 of creating a Microsoft adCenter Account as they are into back end optimizing progress. However, this doesn’t affect the normal operation of the site and existing members can function and make use of Bing services without any issue. They also do not have a firm date of when on-boarding new merchants process will resume and concerned authorities are working towards the same. It will become live and active as soon as possible and hence Bing requests all prospective merchants to check details regarding the same on a frequent basis.
