Link Building
Link building is one of the most imperative aspects of optimizing your website for top search engine placement. In other words its one of the cornerstones of any effectual search engine optimization campaigns.

Link Building by Articles
Writing a very distinctive, significant content about your subject matter for your own site is the most critical piece of on-site SEO. But it can also be an incredible way to generate quality links from other sites.
Writing a very distinctive, significant content about your subject matter for your own site is the most critical piece of on-site SEO. But it can also be an incredible way to generate quality links from other sites. Many websites which are existing are designed around hosting the content of others and providing links back to them.

Examples like Idea Marketers, Article Central, Ezine Articles, Article City, About.com, writing Career etc… are a few of the thousands websites that offer the ability to spread your content around the site. Particularly prevalent are sites contributing content in website marketing & technology - there are hundreds of sites that deal in content on this subject. We can also post our articles in social bookmarking sites which are also known as community sites, so that interested people will view & share your article which in turn results in natural link baiting. Some of the examples of book marking sites are digg.com, reddit.com, etc…can bring you lot of traffic.

The following are few steps which make the article to be very unique & attracts more readers:

1. Pay Attention To Title of The Article:

Many great articles go unobserved on social book marking sites as their headline is not catchy enough. Your Title is the first (and very often the only) thing users will see from your article, so if you don't make the attempt to provide a captivating headline, your probability of getting to the front page are small.

2. Description should be sensible & brief (short description):

The headline is very imperative to draw notice but if you want to keep that attention, a meaningful description is vital. The description must be slightly stimulating because this draws more attention but still, never use lies and false facts to incite interest. For instance, if your write “This article will disclose to you the 10 sure ways to deal with stress once and forever and live like a king from now on.” visitors will scarcely think that your story is true and based on facts.

3. Content Is the Ruler:

However, the initial paragraph is not everything. Going more along the chain of drawing (and retaining) users' attention, we arrive at the Content is King Level. If your articles are just junk, bookmarking them is futile. You might cheat users once but don't count on recurring visits. What is more, you can get your site barred from social bookmarking sites, when you indefatigably post junk.

4. Build A High Profile:

Not all users are the same on social bookmarking sites. If you are an old and respected user who has posted plenty of interesting stuff, this increases the chance that what you submit will get noticed. Posting links to fascinating articles on other sites is very important for building a top-profile. Furthermore, it is suspicious, when your profile has links to only one site. Many social bookmarking sites scowl when users submit their own content because this feels like self-promotion.

5. Have Related/Popular Articles:

Traffic guru’s kid that traffic from social bookmarking sites is like an invasion – the crowds pour in and in a day or two they are gone. Unluckily this is true – after you’re listing rolls from the front page, the drop in traffic is substantial. Further, several users come just following the link to your article, have a look at it and then they are gone. One of the ways to keep them longer on your site is to have links to Associated Articles / Popular Articles or something similar that can draw their notice to other stuff on the site and make them read more than one article.

Link Building by a Very Unique Tools & Services

By offering unambiguous, relevant free tools/services provided by our site, we can spawn naturally built links. My suggestion is to find a tool or service that isn't at present offered or that you believe you can improve upon. For some industries, this will be much difficult than others, but creativity is your best tool. Envisage what automated web service, list of resources or submission-type tool would best gain you and then build it and offer it on your site.

Some of the outstanding instances which are of my imagination:
  • For a site about shops, a tool that visually figures the selection of interests.
  • For a site about travel, a tool that generates a pre-planned circuit based on a choice of interests
  • For a site about real estate, a tool that estimates value of property or gives a percentage chance of selling for based on time, region & price.
The possibilities are endless, and there is slight uncertainty that the web can automate and make easier hundreds of tasks in any industry. The key, after you have built your tool, is to promote it with industry leaders - send it to bloggers who converse your subject matter, ask people to use and appraise it on forums, etc. You can even try to promote it by writing an article about your findings, expansion or the simple existence of the tool and submitting it across the newswires.

Link Building by Donations & Charitable trusts:

Several elevated PR websites are run by charity organizations, open-source technology groups & the like. Donations of time, money or resources in exchange for links are commonplace and very valuable. For this form of link building, relevancy is still significant, but you may not be able to find any link partners in this section if you focus only on topic-sensitive sites & pages. It may be very valuable to contribute regardless and see if the links from PR7 & 8 pages can help to enhance/boost up your significance.

In turn to find sites like these, I use the Page Rank Search tool at SEOChat to search for terms/phrases like bestow, contribute, give, donate etc. Appending your wide-ranging search terms to these types of words can help you find the sites most likely to pass you a high-quality link. It’s always good to bear in mind that even if non-profits, charities, etc. don't have a link program in place, they may be happier to offer a special link for you if you request it when contributing. If nothing else, these links and the time/money you expend getting them are a great way to sleep better at night.

Blogging & Comments

Blogging is a very efficient way to get natural inbound links, and by having a private blog at your site, you can further easily make remarks at other sites that link back to you. Don’t spam blog comments with advertisements; your aspiration is to create an online grade you can be proud of. Blog owners and visitors will not take gently to blog spam.

The key to efficient blogging for links is to make definite you comment pertinently & intelligently about the particular subject in the blog. A well thought-out response to a pertinent blog or article can bring not only search engines, but more prominently other readers of the blog to your site through the link. If your content shows interesting, you could build much more than just a lone link through your comments.

Another vital thing to remember is that your link in blog comments possibly will not count at all in the search engines. Many blogs avert access to these comments or don't offer direct, spiderable links for blog visitors. This, mutual with the fact that these comments are buried at least 2-3 links deep from the main page means that you should keep your focus on the visitors you might generate, rather than the search engine optimization you may get.

Going onSpam Forums/Blogs and Be Thanked for It!

Below is a comment by a person who tells his views on this topic..

I'm convinced that social networks are good for building mindshare, especially forums. But mindshare seems to take a backseat to building links or link based traffic. Is mindshare preferable to cracking an algo or attracting forum traffic?

There are three kinds of forum spammers that are missing the boat. The first kind are the old fashioned forum spammers that are bulk spamming for links. The automated ones solely interested in links are easily blocked, hasta la vista, whatever. Their sites are usually crap anyway so whatever, who cares.

The second kind are the amateur spammers with decent sites who mistakenly think it's a good idea to spam forums with promotional posts to their websites as a way to "spread the news" about their site. The best forums are going to catch this and delete it.

The third kind is the ones who periodically visit forums to spam them about the latest updates to their websites, blogs, and business. Whatever. Not everyone is going to ban that, especially if there's good content. It's a way to get visibility but I think the visibility can be increased to the point where you're actually building mindshare.

Creating mindshare is important, maybe more important than the algo cracking benefits of links or a few visitors from a bunch of sites. That's what this is about.

Many forums allow signature lines. Those who wish to spread awareness of their business generally can include a link to their business in it. But I think if they really want to create something that keeps on giving a focus on building mindshare instead of traffic or links is best. The way to do it is to post useful answers and discussions. This is the best way to make your business known because people respond to those who create a positive reputation in a forum. This takes time but it pays off to become the "resident expert" within a forum community. Your business is then associated with the goodwill associated with your community membership. That good will, imo, builds mindshare.

Google Earth To Get Higher-res

Google's kicked off a new space race with the launch of a new satellite, in collaboration with Boeing (who took it into space) and Geoeye, who has partially funded the project. Not unlike DigitalGlobe--one of the companies that provide the imagery for Google Earth--Geoeye, too, is a commercial provider of satellite imagery.

For an undisclosed, but likely ridiculous sum, Google has bought exclusive rights to use Geoeye's images for Google Earth. If this comparison is anything to go by, you'll soon be able to see even your old uncle's bald spot clearly with Google Earth. And that's always good.

Incidentally, yes, that is the Google logo on the rocket.

Google-Backed 'O3b' Satellites Promise High-Speed Internet Access

Initially, 16 satellites will orbit near the equator to deliver connectivity to emerging markets in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Google (NSDQ: GOOG) is financing a constellation of 16 satellites to bring high-speed low-cost Internet connectivity to emerging nations located near the equator.
Announced Tuesday, O3b Networks said the satellites are planned to orbit near the equator to deliver Internet connectivity to emerging markets in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. The service is planned for activation by the end of 2010.

The endeavor is the brainchild of entrepreneur Greg Wyler, who realized the need -- and the difficulty -- of getting high-speed Web access to emerging nations while he helped to establish early 3G and fiber-to-the-home networks in Africa.

"Only when emerging markets achieve affordable and ubiquitous access to the rest of the world will we observe locally generated content, widespread e-learning, telemedicine and (much) more," said Wyler in a statement. "O3b Network will bring multi-gigabit Internet speeds directly to emerging markets, whether landlocked in Africa or isolated by water in the Pacific Islands."

O3b -- abbreviation for "the other 3 billion" -- is headquartered in Jersey, Channel Islands, with a subsidiary for technical development located in Englewood, Colorado.
Initial satellite development is being provided by French defense company Thales SA. The O3b business plan calls for regional ISPs and telecommunications providers to utilize the satellites for high-speed internet access in their respective regions. The company said the system's more than 2,000 transponder equivalents will be able to deliver Internet backhaul at speeds of 10 Gbps. The system has been configured so additional satellites can be added as needed.

"O3b Networks' model empowers local entrepreneurs and companies to deliver Internet and mobile services to those in currently underserved or remote locations at speeds necessary to power rich web-based applications," said Larry Alder, Google's Alternative Access Team product manager, in a statement.

Liberty Global, which offers telecommunications and Web services in more than 15 countries, will contribute technical services to the project through its Colorado facilities.

In addition to Google, O3b is initially being financed by Liberty Global and HSBC Holdings. Investment banking firm Allen & Company is also helping to finance the project, although at a lower level than the three chief financing entities.

Google Chrome

The search giant is introducing the beta version of the latest platform in 100 countries as it bids to take on Internet Explorer and Firefox.

I was as blindsided by Google Chrome as everyone, but there's no negate that its release was a significant occasion. Chrome is more than just a browser; it represents Google's most recent entry in the ongoing discussion of standards and paramount practices for the Web as an application platform. As such, it may be the company's most imperative offering since Gears which is an open source project that enables more powerful web applications, by accumulation of new features to your web browser:

"From my outlook, Google Chrome and Gears are entering the Web from two directions," says Google's Adam Goodman in Scott McCloud's comic-strip introduction to Chrome. "The [Chrome] browser project is an endeavor to make the Web better for users. The Gears team wants to make the Web enhanced for developers."
We are so fortunate, Google Chrome ships with all of the functionality of the Gears plug-in for Firefox and Internet Explorer previously baked in. But I don't agree that users are the only beneficiaries of the other endeavor that's gone into Chrome. There's lots more going on beneath the hood of the new browser that should concern developers, too.

Roaring engines

For learners, Google's verdict to use the WebKit HTML rendering engine may not be astounding, but it's still noteworthy. WebKit, an improved version of the open source KHTML project, is the rendering engine used by Apple for its Safari browser. It's also the engine found in both Apple's iPhone and Google Android, arguably the two most important mobile Web platforms today. WebKit's HTML and JavaScript code began as a branch of the KHTML and KJS libraries from KDE. This website is also the home of S60's S60 WebKit development.

That means Google Chrome isn't yet another browser to support, Pretty, it's one more vote in favor of making WebKit a primary target for new Web development projects. It only makes sense to test against the engine that's available on the extensive range of platforms and devices.

And esteem isn't the only reason why WebKit was a good choice. Current WebKit builds in a very hasty manner. As a result, pages normally pop up more quickly in Chrome than in Firefox 3. More prominently, WebKit leads the pack in Web standards compliance (with Opera a close second). The more developers get on board with writing abundant standards-compliant code, free of undocumented tricks and browser-specific hacks, the better it will be for everyone.

I enthusiastically recommend reading the introductory comic strip for more impending into how Google rebuilt the browser from the ground up. Everything, from the browser security model to how plug-ins is managed, has been crafted with the extreme care. Google Chrome really is the next step in the ongoing project to create the eventual client for the Web application platform.
