Link Building Strategies
Unlimited Potentials for link exchanges
The idea behind reciprocal links is very basic is an agreement is made between two sites to show each other’s link information. The link can be on a exacting page or somewhere within the website.
Link exchange will become “big business” on the Internet. More and more website are actively participating in link exchanges, either independently or through a program. Webmasters are realizing that receiving the links simply produces incredible traffic, not to mention, and more importantly, improve your standings in the Search Engines.
Reciprocal links can be finished through text, buttons, and/or banners.
Text exchanges are the easiest and what we recommend to apply since:
- it usually involves only a small number of lines of HTML code.
- it is easier way to update and manage.
- it does not have to catch up considerable space on the webpage which keeps the webpage’s upload time down.
- the anchor text (the text describing the link) is an important region for Search Engine optimizing.
Guide the search engines to the useful content
Another recent method available is the Sitemap Protocol (see http://www.sitemaps.org, an XML format that is now supported and encouraged by most major search engines. Using this protocol, you can give search engines guidance on which pages of your site you would like to have indexed, as well as how important those pages are in relation to each other, and how often you expect them to change. If your site is not currently capable of producing these XML sitemaps, it may be worth including them in a future redevelopment where practical.
Of course, classic page-based sitemaps and index pages on your site are also of benefit to search engines, but be aware that most search engines only read the first 100 links they encounter in an HTML page, so a large sitemap or index should be broken up into multiple pages to get maximum benefit. It may seem counter intuitive to restrict search engine access to certain pages on the site if you are trying to increase your rankings, but remember that quality is more important than quantity to search engines; by only allowing the search engines to index pages that would be useful to a searcher, you are helping keep the search engine indexes clean, and therefore people will find what they want faster.
Common pages you should prevent search engines from indexing include:
- Web-based applications such as a webmail service that would provide no value to a searcher
- Content that is temporary in nature and would likely be gone by the time anyone tried to visit
- Any search result pages from an internal search engine Search engines prefer not to index the results of other search engines
- Any content that isn’t for public consumption search engines find pages that normal user probably wouldn’t

Things to consider when using links
- Why would someone want to exchange a link with your site? The main thing is in two words: QUALITY CONTENT. If your site has nothing fresh or important to present, why would someone want to link to it?
- Links from websites related to your own topic or theme want to be obtained. If those in your own part think highly enough of your website to link to it, what does that say?
- Getting a link from a main directory or high ranking website can be more important than say 20 links from smaller sites (even in your own area). Again, if a big name player gives you a link, what does the little man will think?
- TIME–it will take time so one should be patient.
Creating links to your website is a great promotional tool and mandatory for any website to be successful. The network of links that you generate will help you website succeed, but it also is critical for your search engine rankings.
