Adcenter recently upgraded some of the key features in their PPC programme. Adcenter community blog reads

"This past weekend the adCenter team upgraded the user interface to add some features to make it easier for customers to manage their adCenter campaigns. Today I wanted to share changes to the reporting section of adCenter.
When you visit the Report Center, you'll see a list of your most recent 20 reports along with an auto-updated status column so you can keep tabs as reports are created and know as soon as they're ready.
We've simplified the report creation process to make it easier to create and customize reports to help you keep a close eye on your performance and adjust your campaigns as needed. We've also made changes to available date range changes to include:
New options, including "today", as requested by customers.
The date range now defaults to "last month", or choose a different time period from the drop-down.
The report display page includes 2 enhancements to help you when viewing your data:
Mouse over column headings in your report tables to view additional information.
Longer bits of text-such as destination URLs-are now abbreviated in the display to allow for easier scanning. To view the full text, mouse over the text."

Best PPC Advertising now - best paying company

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 1:31 PM permanent link on Monday, April 28, 2008 | Post a Comment | 1 comments

Currently there are a lot of PPC companies which allow Ad publishing and pay out based on clicks generated from Ad publishing. Everyone knows that Google is one company you can believe and rely on. There programme Adsense has been a hit for a long time. Though lot of companies have come up recently still Adsense is unmoved from its current position. This is because they had been very genuine in their business.

Some times Adsense payouts are very less but mostly Search Engines pay out less because of potential fradulent clicks.

SO I recommend if you are a new Ad publishing without any experience with any Ad publishing company one company I recommend to believe is Google.

Believe Google and I am sure you will get what you are looking for

Repeated violation results in permanent suspension

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 12:37 PM permanent link on Sunday, April 27, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

These are rare cases but there are accounts in AdWords that gets suspended permanently for violation of Quality guidelines. A webmaster in webmasterworld reported that is site has permanently suspended due to repeated violation of guidelines.

webmasterworld.com/google_
adwords/3635680.htms

In the above thread robin ponty says that his site has been suspended permanently. His site is an escort site. Escort sites are subject to strong review and its important to check the site with Google quality guidelines if once the site has been suspended. Here Robin points out that he continued to make the mistake of continuing with the account ever after repeated temporary suspension. He agrees that his site did violate quality guidelines due to some photos that are against Google AdWords quality guidelines. I recommend if you are facing similar problems make sure you read the quality guidelines and act according to it.

Yahoo now the great lord of truth

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 12:18 PM permanent link on Friday, April 25, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Yahoo has now added a new feature in Yahoo Search Marketing . They are now showing status of Click Filters. Click filter is a new feature where yahoo shows the status of Fraudelent clicks and the money refunded because it. This is a great new feature and possibly a by product of the merger of Click Forencics and Yahoo Search.

Recently Yahoo tied up hands with Click Forencics a company who has been loud on fighting click fraud.

Before joining hand with Click Forensics Yahoo said its click fraud rate was around 12 to 15% and most of these funds are returned to the advertisers. Google Claimed click fraud rate in their sponsored results are only in single digits.

Now Yahoo have a good reporting system where they show the status of click fraud in search results inside the Yahoo search marketing control panel and return the funds to advertisers who suffer from click fraud.

The report can be customized with the following data:

  • Impressions
  • Clicks
  • Invalid Clicks
  • Invalid Click Rate
  • Click-through Rate (CTR)
  • Cost
  • Average Cost-per-Click

Great job Yahoo we wish to see more of such features in future.

Quality Score Factors answer by Adcenter REP

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 12:09 PM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

When I was going through webmaster world forum I saw an interesting question being raised,

Great White Shark asks

Can anyone please verify that if you have even one keyword or ad with a bad
quality score your account quality score can be damaged? Apparently, this info
came from someone that works at Microsoft.

Now we have a Adcenter Representive for solving problems and answering questions about Microsoft Adcenter PPC program,

adCenterRep Replies

" Today, we do not have a quality score that is available to customers in
the UI. However, we do evaluate the quality of queries to ads to landing pages.
Advertisers should work to ensure that there is an overall high-quality
experience, even at the keyword level. Poor query-ad-landing page is also a
measure of poor relevance that will inhibit ads from showing up higher in the
listings. "

Microsoft Ready to say Bye Bye to Yahoo

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 11:52 AM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Microsoft is ready to Hostile or even walk away from the bid to buy yahoo since the 3 week long deadline is almost there. Microsoft has repeatedly said it is not willing to Raise the bid value anymore and are fixed at 31$ per share they are willing to Offer Yahoo.

Yahoo on the other hand has been stubborn to raise the bid Yahoo is probably looking somewhere in the range of 35$ per share.

Microsoft has warned before that they will take the case to the Share holders if yahoo does not accept the bid they are looking for. Analysts suggest a proxy fight is most likely and any tough stance from yahoo is not the best for its future since they don't have much alternatives.

Adwords conversion tracking improved

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 9:35 AM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Google adwords team have improved their conversion tracking algorithm to have each actions being tracked independently. Before we cannot track actions we set independently now we can setup different actions for the targeted business and track actions and conversions based on that.

Conversion tracking is a very important part of PPC advertising nowadays. Good conversion tracking will lead to best conversions also it will be great to track the different keywords which ones are better converting that way we get an idea on the conversions available for the site. Conversion tracking with Google analytics is the best and a very good long term solution.

Charged more than advertising bid- happened to you?

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 12:45 PM permanent link on Monday, April 21, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Have you ever been charged more than your advertising bid is some cases yes this happens. We did encounter this in some of our client sites. So what causes this after digging deeper we were able to find the mistake in this.

In programme like MSN ADcenter PPC we have 2 options where we can set separate bids for content PPC as well as the ad group. So sometimes the ad group will override content bid and this could cause a higher price even more than the bid limit since there are 2 different bids involved. Make sure you check this before searching for solutions.

Check to see if the bid optimizer is causing any problems

Make sure if you have your preferred position as 1 0r 2 sometimes this may override your max bid,

Free stuff ranking about you - hurt adwords advertising

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 12:39 PM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

I have seen many people advertise their information based products in Google adwords or other PPC advertising programme but in Search engines like Google many free stuff tend to rank better than the paid ads. So does Google worry about it . I would say no. People like free stuff much more than paid stuff they want to visit free websites and get their necessary stuff than buying online.
When something is sold that is already available for free online people tend to go get them free instead of buying them. This is the nature of Google users and google is very well aware of it. For them Customer satisfaction is the priority and more the customers are satisfied better its for their advertising programme so I am sure Google is not worried about free stuff ranking about paid adwords advertising.

Yahoo changed Minimum bid value - yahoo updates bid value

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 1:00 PM permanent link on Sunday, April 20, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Recently yahoo has made changes to the minimum bid value you a user can bid for their PPC program. Before it was 0.10 $ standard for most of the bids but now it is not anymore that value. Your bidding depends on the quality of the ads and the number of click throughs it attracts. If the user likes the ad and if it results in more clickthroughs then your site will attact a much lower bid.

Also the value of the keyword matters when it comes to bid value. If the number of advertisers are more and if they are willing to pay more for that keyword then the minimum bid value for that keyword will be changed,

Urchin Analytics software out of beta

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 10:16 AM permanent link on Thursday, April 17, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

I am sure if you used Adwords before you should have definitely used Google analytics. Google analytics is google hosted version of Urchin a popular Analytics software which Google acquired few years back. Its a very successful online tracking software which provides a useful user friendly platform to check the validity of your results.

Urchin had been running for a long time as a beta version. Google has a tradition of running their softwares for a long time in beta mode to get user satisfaction and once they get positive feedback they will make bring out of beta,

Urchin is a hosted software which Google analytics is Google hosted. You can download Urchin and install it on your server and you and use it to monitor your traffic and logs real time unlimited on many sites. Urchine costs 3000$ and I am sure its worth the cost.

According to official Google Analytics Blog,

"Urchin formed the basis of Google Analytics, released in 2005. But, while Google Analytics is a Google-hosted service, Urchin is software that you run on your own servers. This makes Urchin ideal for certain applications. You might use it if you:

want to analyze your firewall-protected content, such as an intranet
have 5 years' worth of old server log data to analyze
need to know if your site's visitors are getting "Page Not Found" (404) errors
need to have your site's traffic data audited by a third party
need to create custom reports or integrate with other tools, like a CRM system
need to integrate your e-commerce logs directly with Urchin

Alexa screws up its ranking algorithm - makes ranking change

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 9:10 AM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 1 comments

Recently we saw alexa make a major change to the way the rank their sites. In my opinion their current ranking system doesn't work and its worse than before. The new ranking is not something that takes the whole world as a picture it mostly sees users from US to judge the traffic to a site. We compare the current results with few of the sites we own / monitor and all sites that rank for US and getting lot of US traffic are pushed higher while sites that gets ton of Global traffic and lesser US traffic are pushed down.

So what even alexa did or tried to do has screwed up their total index IMO. Either they need to go back to their old results or they need to fix a lot of things before the new results work better.

Though Alexa results are skewed lot of new webmasters or site owners gauge that as a important way of judging the important of a website so if alexa is going to reward US sites over other country sites then I fear it will never be any more a place to visit.

Yahoo kicks of with a new search engine crawler

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 1:18 PM permanent link on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Yahoo crawler team have come out with a new crawler that will crawl the web in a more sophisticated way. Yahoo Slup 3.0 is the new version of yahoo's search engine indexing crawler that has been introduced recently for crawling the web. Yahoo Search engine is the 2nd most important search engine only next to Google and its very important we give attention to yahoo search rankings.

Yahoo has done a major crawler infrastructure update and this is causing massive indexing in major sites. Things should be settling down very soon but yahoo has reported new crawler activity from a different set of IPs for many sites.

According to yahoo the same derivatives in robots.txt for New Yahoo slup 3.0 will work,

"The crawlers will also publish a new user-agent, 'Yahoo! Slurp/3.0.' Existing
robots.txt directives for 'Slurp' or 'Yahoo! Slurp' will continue to work, but
if you have directives specific to 'Slurp/2.0,' they won't be recognized by the
new crawler (though usage of the 'Slurp/2.0' user-agent is very rare on the web,
so you won't likely be affected). We recommend specifying the shorter version
of: User-agent: Slurp. "

Competitor keywords bidding is worth the effort and risk,

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 8:40 PM permanent link on Saturday, April 12, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

There are lot of advantages on bidding on your competitor keywords. Bidding on the competition's keywords will give an immediate targeted exposure especially for new websites. New websites find it difficult to make profits from PPC since most of the ads they participate will be costly and they need to pay a hefty amount for it. Bidding on competitor keywords will make that job much easier.

Though Google has a tough stance on bidding on competitor's keywords especially keywords that are Trademarked by the competitor still they don't deny a good user experience. If they feel some thing is good for their users they don't hesitate to do it. As per their policy if a user is satisfied seeing a competitor ad then mostly they allow it. I have personally experienced this when we advertise with Google PPC.

You can also enable benchmarking service for adwords which will allow you to compare your site with competitors.

According to Google Analytics support

"Benchmarking is an optional Google Analytics service that shows how your website's statistics compare against other industry verticals. In the beta version of this service, you are able to compare your site's Visits, Pageviews, Pages per Visit, Bounce Rate, Average Time on Site, and New Visits data against benchmark data from categories of other participating websites. You can use this data to gain broader context for your site so you can identify additional opportunities to improve your site's metrics.
This service is located under the "Visitors" section of your reports. Select "Benchmarking (Beta)" to view this report. Please note that it will take up to two weeks for the data to appear since it is being categorized and collected for your reports"

Open Target Exchange system delivers superior yield and advertiser effectiveness by leveraging multiple targeting methods and algorithms, and allowing them to compete for the right to match advertisements to publisher web pages.

Adbrite gives the opportunity to bring multiple algorithms into the pool and make them compete with each other, this gives a change for advertisers and publishers to select the most relevant ads to be displayed.

Adbrite has partnered with Lucid Media (formerly Entrieva) and Personifi for targeted advertising.

Online retail sales to cross 200$ billion in 2008.

Written by power @ 1:47 PM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

According to a survey conducted by Internet analysis firm Forrester Research for Shop.org, the online arm of the National Retail Federation trade group online spending will raise from 174$ billion last year to 200$ Billion in 2008. This excludes air travel spending. Though an other survey says most of the online buyers do a lot of research and tend to buy offline.

Personally I do it that way most of the time if I want to buy a computer related item I go to Ebay , amazon and other shopping comparision sites to compare sites, Finally when I am convinced with the pricing I would like to see the product like so I go to places like Best Buy, Fry's etc the electronic items I need.

There are negative effects due to housing slump , a recent report which showed lower job rate, raise in gas and good prices but still people are willing to spend money online which is a very good sign. Many companies have invested on providing users with the best search experience possible.

Online deals are bound to go down in the arfuture according NYtimes

"But those shoppers looking for a bevy of free online shipping deals may not find them as plentiful as they did last year. The study, which surveyed 125 online retailers in February and March, showed that merchants are less interested in using such promotions this year. While 85 percent of online retailers said they used some shipping incentive in the past year, just 35 percent said they would focus more on these types of deals in 2008."

Yahoo - Yhoo - willing to play more with MSFT ( microsoft )

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 10:31 PM permanent link on Thursday, April 10, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Yahoo Inc has started playing games with MSFT to increase the bid or a possible higher sellout. Microsoft has offered 31$ per share for Yahoo which rates it to around 44 billion now Yahoo has planned to partner with Google to deliver Adwords sponsored results besides yahoo's search results.

This looks like a desperate attempt by yahoo to make MSFT offer a higher bid for them.,

According to Financial express:

Yahoo announced on Wednesday a test to outsource Web search advertising to
Google Inc. Sources say the test is part of a planned three-way alliance to
combine Yahoo with Time Warner Inc's AOL instead of Microsoft Corp.

If there is a possible merger with AOL then Yahoo will be a much lower brand. AOL is already struggling by itself I dont think they will make Yahoo a successful business if the merger happens.

So what should Yahoo do? I personally feel Yahoo should be sold to MSFT since Google is too dominant in Search industry now. That's not the best thing since competition always makes better goods to be delivered to end customers.

Paid clicks More than Organic clicks

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 10:08 PM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

For many sites there is a situation where the Paid click throughs from Search Engine Result Pages are much more than organic search results . Here is a small check list on what causes this.

1. If your site is not performing well in Organic but you have a good budget and your spending power on adwords is much higher I am sure you will have more click throughs from adwords.

2. Position of your adwords campaign keywords matter if you are bidding for the top 3 spots your results will show above organic search results. This will give more exposure and will result in maximum click throughs much more than Organic search engine results.

3. You have more control over what it shows up in Paid results. For example your title and description is far better in adwords campaign than in a Organic Search result. For targeted users this is an added advantage.

4. Keyword broad matching in a Adwords campaign will result in your ads showing more often which might result in more click throughs.

5. Positioning of your keywords in Organic search results matter say you have adwords campaign running on top part of the page and your organic search engine rankings are in the lower part of the page I am sure your click throughs from adwords campaign is much higher than the SEO results.

Pay per click disabled adwords checklist:

1. Make sure your have the most relevant page, if a Adwords quality engineer or automated review thinks that your page is not relevant your keywords targeting that page will be disabled. You need to pay much higher than the normal keyword price to enable to those keywords. Best recommendation just remove those keywords and start with new ones in your campaign.

2. Lower quality score will also result in keywords being disabled make sure that the keywords corresponds well with your page.

3 Some times very low click throughs will result in ads getting disabled this will be in direct relation with the quality score. Check her click throughs often.

4. See for duplicate entries in keywords if your keywords appear some where else in campaign still your keywords might be disabled.

5. No impressions for a long time for a keyword will also result in disabled keywords. Make sure your ads are shown in Google search results or partner sites.

6. Any negative keyword will result in disabling of keywords, Make sure you don't have a negative keyword.

7. Make sure the ad and the keyword are well connected. This will prevent from keywords getting disabled.

Pay Per Click costs - Yahoo Search Marketing Vs Google Adwords

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 8:40 PM permanent link on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Recently we had a comparison report prepared by our team on which pay per click programme charges more Yahoo Search Marketing and Google Adwords.

From our research Google is twice more costly and requires more budget than Yahoo Search Marketing.

We took 10 different topics auto transport, car insurance, mesothelioma, digital cameras, plasma TV, home loans, conference call, call center software, online advertising.

Under each topic we selected 10 related keywords and ran a test campaign on both Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing. We tried bidding the highest just for 10 clicks. We got the top position in both Search engines for the keywords advertised. For each keyword we were able to spend for 3 clicks.

Results we got for Google top spot for these keywords is like the ad runs out in no time for the maximum click we get the 3 test clicks in few minutes for almost all the keywords. Cost of some keywords ranged from 7$ to 35$ per click.

For yahoo the same ads displayed on top position due to maximum bidding cost us in range from 10$ to 21$ also the ads took more time to get exhausted. From our testing Google adwords is more costly and active and Yahoo search marketing advertising is a bit slow. Google Adwords is atleast double the price of Yahoo Search Marketing. Infuture we will provide a detailed report on how the conversion works. Also data will be in more formal format

Yahoo Search Marketing New Affiliate Policy

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 8:22 PM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Yahoo search Marketing was not allowing direct links to a non-personalized affiliate landing page. Yahoo's Search Marketing has implemented New guidelines for affiliate Marketing in their ad-publishing. A publisher can have direct links to a affiliate's page they don't to have a customized landing page setup on their site or on the affiliate service provider's site.

Yahoopete yahoo's YSM support Rep who posts in Digitalpoint forums said about a year back

"Currently, we don't accept direct links to a non-personalized merchant's page. The landing page must be owned or controlled by the affiliate (not the merchant) or be personalized/co-branded with the affiliate's name or business name."
Current affiliate policy updated October 2007,

"Yahoo! Search Marketing Becomes More Publisher Friendly After more than six months in the making and much customer feedback and testing, we are pleased to announce that Yahoo! Search Marketing (YSM) has recently updated its editorial policies and will now allow U.S. publishers to direct link to their advertisers. In the past, YSM's editorial policy prevented publishers from linking directly to their advertiser partners and required that traffic be sent first to the publisher's Web site. The new policy eliminates this restriction and opens a much broader search marketing opportunity for publishers."

Adsense scam people out there do it - A new scam in adsense

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 8:08 PM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

When I was browsing through digitalpoint forums where a poster was bragging about his high income in adsense he guarantees to make at least 70$ a day from adsense ads alone per site. He claims to run many sites and claims to make 1000s of dollars.

We had been running adsense in some of sites and ill tell you unless you have an extraordinary site rarely you will cross 10$ per day. We know sites that make 200 or 300 but that's very very rare and the site should get 1000s and 1000s of visitors a day to generate that much clicks and Income. But there are scammers out there who want to take people's Money by scamming them into adsense advertising.

Look at this claim

"Dear all,
I'm having many websites and each of them are fetching daily
around $70, and from one site i'm at present earning around $1700, so like wise
i have many sites. Moreover i have 2 adsense accounts, one on my name and
another on my company name and different address.
I'm in adsense from last 5
years, and I know each and everything how to earn massive income with a clean
chit.
My co. started in creating sites on different topics which give 100%
guranteed income. I've the proof of all the sites with daily payment details, i
can also show you, but most of you will tell its a photoshop trick :-). But its
not. why read on.
We create professional websites especially for adsense
earning, with seo optimization, high paying keywords, keywords for getting good
ranking and traffic. Apart from this, we put a listing of 25k of your site, you
can check it regularly to confirm whether we worked or not.
Another most
important thing, which no one can offer, is at present to get pin no. you have
to cross, $10, what if our service, gives you $10 in few hrs, with 5000
impression and corresponding clicks. Moreover we promise you to give first $100
credit in 2 days by putting your pub code on our sites, so that you can get the
check in the first month, without waiting for years like others. Ofcourse we
charge for our service, we have services like giving sites on rent basis with
daily fees of 50% of daily amount generated in your account. For example if our
sites gives you an income of $100 in a single day, than you have to pay us $50.
Another option is to buy one time professional site with $100 free credit.
PLEASE don't think that we will use traffic generating softwares and other
useless things to increase your daily incomes. Before you take our service we
will show you all the proof of websites currently running on our service and how
much they are earning daily and copies of their adsense cheques too.
You
Might Ask us... Instead of giving services to different people why can't we only
create websites for self and make huge income ?
Answer: We already made huge
no. of websites for us and earning excellent income daily. Moreover as we said
we create professional websites only not just creating a plane website and
putting code and go on. To really make good income you have to weekly update
your site with recent best keywords in the market, and full page for ranking and
traffic and seo. Now our aim is to give the same benefit to other people who
really want to make income and who are really serious of making money using
adsense. Because on internet adsense is the only one marketing program which

Adsense Guru Inc."

When you read the claim you can see he is offering to build sites in different topics with guaranteed Income. That is utterly baseless claim. Most of these MFA ( Made For Adsense ) sites are banned by search engines and they will not perform in search engines any more. A good SEO takes atleast a year to work most probably the above scammer is using all traffic generating from robots which visits a site from different bogus IPs and generates clicks. I recommend you stay away from these sort of claims since they might damage your reputation with Google adsense and search engine algorithms.

Pausing Adwords campaign? Does it affect CPCs and QS

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 12:41 PM permanent link on Monday, April 7, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

From what I have read from Adwords advisor in webmasterworld and from other experts in various forums pausing a adwords pay per click campaign will not give any negative effect to the results nor will it affect Quality score of a website.

Its very normal to pause a run a campaign for various reasons. Reasons like hosting problem and website goes down, insufficient funds , invalid clicks can always arise and these are valid reasons to stop / pause a campaign. Google is well aware of this I am sure there are no bad effects on Quality Score in adwords campaign,

Google product search wrong keyword matching - wrong results.

Written by Search Engine Genie @ 3:10 PM permanent link on Saturday, April 5, 2008 | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Google product search has wrong keyword matching, Google has recently banned all advertisers from having ads which sell PageRank, When I searched in Google for "buy pagerank links" to test any potential violators I saw their product search showing results of Cobra 2 way radio results for Pagerank keywords. PageRank is most widely called in short form PR and the site has PR in their product name and this makes google's algorithm through a completely wrong result.

When you look at this screen shot,

you will see that when i search " buy pagerank links" I see cobra electronics ranks on top of google results and "PR" is highlighted.

When I click on product search results for buy pagerank links I land on the product page

This page sells all cobra electronics products after I click on any result I land on this product page

I just wonder how much irrelevant traffic this site is getting, Probably a bonus for them, I hope Google fixes this since its not good for their users.

Percentage of users who click adwords - overall percentage

There are various studies posted around blogs, press releases, forums, PDFs about percentage of Google users who click adwords sponsored results over natural organic search engine results.

After analysing various sites and their data and our own research we see google's premium sponsored results which shows up over the natural organic results are clicked 5 times more than the regular organic Search engine results.

But the sponsored results on the right side gets 3 times less click than the Organic results. Our research is based on tracking about 150 sites only which we monitor.

Doubleclick acquisition by Google has make 300 employees of Doubleclick loose their jobs and made running for other jobs. Google has cut down 300 employees of the 1200 employees double click had.

Google bought the New York based company for 3.2$ billion dollars from a San Francisco private equity firm,

I always thought acquisition is Google but it seems not always the case for employees.

Pay per call - A review on pay per call ingenio program

Written by power @ 12:51 PM permanent link on | Post a Comment | 0 comments

Ingenio's pay per call programme is a revolutionary new programme where when users click on the ads displayed they will be guided to a page which has a tollfree number and some information about the ads. Usually all Pay per click ads are targeted towards sending potential customers to the website targeted but pay per call will give a toll free number to call and give direct phone leads.

Advantages of Pay per call advertising:

1. Direct leads over phone - phone leads are ofcourse much more powerful that leads to website where the conversion rate is much lesser.
2. No down time experience, a website might go down due to network problems but a phone line rarely goes down so you are sure to get the lead to call you.
3. You get more time to spend with your leads in phone, a click from search results are nothing compared to the time you get to communicate with potential buyers. I am personally very good at phone conversation and have a conversation rate of 20% when I talk over phone compared to a conversion rate of 4% when I do it over email.
4. You don't need a website for it, There are millions of small businesses that don't have a proper ecommerce website and pay per call is a very good solution for them,
5. When people make phone calls they are in a better mood to make decisions than people just clicking through a search engine pay per click ad. Ofcourse phone call is much better.
6. Many pay per click advertisers have problems delivering the best landing pages due to the mood of different type of visitors. Some visitors like the look of the site, some like the formatting, some like layout and some will like images etc. Pay per call overcomes this problem a very good sales staff over phone can explain and clarify all problems within minutes which a website cannot do easily.
7. No possibility of click frauds since you are charged only for the calls received.

Disadvantages:

1. Pay per call is much costly than pay per click. Good ROI is required or its not the best solution for small businesses.
2. You need to be all the time before the phone whereas a website will run by itself and a lead by email you can reply to your own flexibility.
