Yahoo to buy Taiwan blog site Wretch

Wretch.cc is a popular site in Taiwan offering Web services most broadly defined as Web 2.0 that entails mixing user generated content and more multimedia applications such as video. The site offers blogs, video blogs and photo albums, and it further announces to expand its site to video publishing same as YouTube Inc. by coming year.

Teaming up with Yahoo would even help to invest in new services and give its users access to Yahoo technology and resources, the company said.

Yahoo! gives away desktop search for enterprises

Yahoo! and IBM OmniFind had decided to offer free enterprise search software. IBM OmniFind Yahoo! Edition could further even be used for searching intranets, local file servers plus corporate web site. This software will support up till 500,000 documents per server, and more than 200 file types and documents in 30 languages.

It could even run on 32-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 4, Update 3, 32-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise 10, 32-bit Windows XP SP2 and 32-bit Windows 2003 Server SPI. Google releases customized version of IE 7

Google spurs real estate demand in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR – It about a week now that Google had decided to stay in its downtown office for at least four years, the home real estate firms anyways says commercial space near the search engine giant is in huge demand. The developer of residential projects expects about 300 to 400 employees to live in their buildings. Google/NASA partnership approaching lift-off
