Google Library now extends to Spain

Google is now in partnered with the “Complutense University” in Madrid to make thousands of Spanish books available online for public access. The two organizations have decided to digitize the university library’s out-of-copyright books by placing some of the greatest books of Spanish literature on the web. Plus its collection of Spanish-language public domain books, the university would also make accessible works of Spanish historic importance, with numerous books in French, German, Latin, Italian and English.

“Complutense University” is the first Spanish partner to join Google’s Library Project. Google Book Search is already working with the New York Public Library and the universities of Michigan, Harvard, Oxford, Stanford and California.
