Google has launched a blog to keep Mac (Message Authentication Code) users update of new services for the Apple Computer machine. In addition, the search engine group has created a new site to showcase all of Google’s applications for the Mac. It offers all the “news, tips and insider stories about Macs at Google.

Google’s Mac software carries widgets for checking the company’s Web mail, posting to blog and check search history.

Yahoo would soon be introducing the new sponsored search. With it Yahoo wants their advertisers to know about a few constant changes that are about to take place. In their newest journal edition of “On Target”, Yahoo noted a few key point advertiser needs.

1. Account upgrades are now expected to be released in this fourth quarter of 2006. At this time some of the account terminology would be changed.

2. Listings would now be known as ‘Ads’ and would also be joined into Ad Groups (not to be confused with Google AdGroups). This would allow them for bidding based on the full group, or by any individual keyword.

3. Categories would now be known as ‘Campaigns’ that might consist of one or more ‘Ad Groups’.

Google this Thursday had launched a notification service, which makes it easier for Blogger or blog-hosting services to notify the search engine for new blogs or changes to existing ones. Although Google monitors other pinging services, informing service directly can surely make it faster to get an update in the company’s index.

Google actually provides a manual process for submitting the URL of a new or any modified blog, and application programming interfaces, or APIs, for those who desire to automate the process.

A recent agreement between Yahoo! And HP would now feature the prominent search engine being pre-installed as the homepage on millions of computers.

The agreement means that HP would have to set up desktop and the notebook PCs such that Yahoo’s search engine appears in the yahoo toolbar of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. There is also talk of a co-branded Yahoo! HP toolbar that would allow consumers access to search, mail, news and a range of other Yahoo! services.

Google is now introducing a new search service – strictly for computer programmers. The Web search leader said late on Wednesday that it is introducing Google Code Search, a site, which simplifies software developers search for programming code to improve existing software or to create new programs.

Searchers could seek out specific programming terms or the computer language used and it will dive deep into compressed code to locate specific features. Users also could narrow the search to find software code based on exact licensing needs, which is a big deal in warding off future patent litigation.

Google has exposed version 1.0 of the Google Ajax Search API. It tool allows site operators to display Google Search and other search results on their websites where previously search results were displayed on a new page.

The Asynchronous JavaScript and XML API could offer results from Google Search, News, Maps, Video and other Blog search features.

The API also offers a maximum of eight results to prevent users from launching their own search engine. Search results would consist of sponsored listings and advertisers would not be charged for click-through during the current test phase.

04 October 2006 – Google has taken the extraordinary step of offering its gadgets (mini-applications) for the use on personal websites and for blogs as well. Unlike before now user can simply copy and paste the HTML code for the application into their website.

Google by now has a gallery of more than 1200 Google Gadgets that are dynamic applications, which let users check the weather, get news headlines, or even play games. There is no end to the sorts of things, which developers dream up for the mini-apps.

Yahoo said over the weekend that it is now opening up its market-leading mail service technology in order to permit developers to innovate on top of the service and also to build new applications. The move is called one of the largest code giveaways ever before.

This will surely allow developers to build new user interfaces or methods to display a user’s incoming mail. Yahoo says it cannot create all the applications, which user require; thus, opening up the code was a logical move. This service is accessed by more than a quarter of a billion Internet users worldwide says Yahoo.

Google has recently opened its new office in the Big Apple at 111 Eighth Ave., in the heart of the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan, New York.

Google would tend to occupy about 300,000 square feet on three floors of the building. Built in 1932 for the New York Port Authority, the building is a home to such companies as Global Crossing and also for Barnesandnoble.com. It is the second-largest building in Manhattan in terms of square footage.

Microsoft has announced that the work has been completed to combine its MSN Messenger instant messaging network with Yahoo! Messenger. From today the services have combined 350 million users who could communicate to those on the other network as well. The combined network is now the worlds biggest.

Since Google bought a stake at AOL earlier this year, the two companies have also spoken of combining Google Talk and AIM as well although not timetable for integration has yet been announced.
