Google Sure DoubleClick Bid would get clear
BRUSSELS, Belgium – Google Inc. is sure that its $3.1 billion bid for online ad tracker DoubleClick would now win over European and U.S. controllers as well, a company executive said Friday – even as advertisers uttered concerns the deal would contract competition.
However the European Union’s executive arm has a Nov. 13 deadline to clear the deal or open a fuller examination, which could take up to four more months. It would not inspect the privacy concerns but stick strictly to how the deal affects the market.
