301 redirect to conserve pagerank and distribute proper link popularity , Search Engine Optimization Tip 10 February 10th thursday 2005
301 redirect is the most effective way for telling the search engine crawlers that a particular page is moved, For example if you want to drop a old domain and create a new domain then you are bound to loose all link popularity of the old domain, For new domain you have to create link popularity from scratch,
with 301 redirect we can tell then search engine crawlers that the page has moved to a new location and that the link popularity of the old site or old page should be transferred to the new page or site,
A simple way of creating a 301 redirect from a page to a new page is
redirect 301 / http://www.anysite.com”
since we cannot post the whole tip here due to server issues we are attaching it here Please read the 301 redirect tip in this text file
